Palisades Overlook
Carved into a mountainside in the northern hills of the Napa Valley, this calming residential retreat was designed for rest and familial gathering. Careful thought was put into its design scale, its interior space volume and the use of natural light. From it rose a balanced space which bridges early 20th century California and East coast craftsman cottage inspiration with the dramatic mountainous terrain and picturesque views. The concluding aesthetic takes advantage of both natural light and materials to create a Zen-like, centered space, perfect for the Clients’ yoga practice and peaceful lifestyle.

When Luke first visited our hillside property, he studied it carefully, seeing possibilities from every angle. Where we saw an empty field, he envisioned a home with picturesque views framed by tall windows and people gathering in light-filled spaces.
